Three Days In Paris Pt. II – The Louvre

The Louvre

It’s truly impossible to understate the Louvre. It’s incredible in size, in beauty and in it’s wealth of contents. There are pieces in here that will take your breath away. Five hours wandering the halls wasn’t near enough to cover it all. We were the first tickets of the day and you can see how popular the Mona Lisa is. Everyone made a direct beeline for her. While she’s certainly a beauty, I would argue she’s far from the most impressive painting within those walls. The sheer size of ‘The Wedding Feast at Cana’ by Veronese is mindblowing and it sits just across from her.

The courtyard was packed when we arrived for our visit but since we stayed in a hotel so close, I woke up in the early hour to wander around and get some snaps sans the crowds. Of course, I took way too many photos while we were there, but here are some of my favorites.
